What is UltraCOMP™

UltraCOMP Engineered Thermoplastics are semicrystalline materials manufactured for extreme temperatures, chemicals and pressures. Such capabilities translate into reduced equipment down time and increased productivity. For example, UltraCOMP back-up rings exhibit optimum flexibility and strength — flexibility for ease of installation and high tensile strength properties for premiere extrusion resistance.

High Temperature Capability

UltraCOMP’s high temperature capability makes it ideal for oilfield applications, particularly down hole where temperatures can reach 500°F. At high temperatures, UltraCOMP retains its strength and becomes more flexible to bridge extrusion gaps. The introduction of glass, carbon or graphite fiber fillers reinforces virgin UltraCOMP — enhancing the mechanical and thermal properties of the thermoplastic.
