Single-Coated Tapes
Just like 3M® double-sided Tapes, 3M® single-coated tapes come in several configurations to ensure the product works for your application. Multiple factors come into play when determining the optimum product including backing material, adhesive type, application time and temperature, surface characteristics, and end-use conditions. For example, 3M® backings come in a wide range of performance and handling characteristics such as thickness, temperature range, conformability, cost, moisture barrier ability, chemical resistance, solvent resistance, and resistance to recovery. Likewise, the various 3M® pressure-sensitive adhesives have specific characteristics that affect production and end-use performance. These include initial tack, ultimate adhesion to steel, temperature range, long-aging capabilities, and cost.
