The first Zatkoff scale was exactly as one would imagine: two plates or bowls suspended at equal distances from the fulcrum.

"Although scales by their nature seem like simple machines to an outsider, I saw them as necessary investments to our business to ensure counting accuracy in customer orders," says founder Roger Zatkoff.

It wasn’t long until scales were being digitized, and Zatkoff jumped at the opportunity to implement this new technology, using weight verification through product sampling size that was faster and more accurate than the original method. With every advancement in scale technologies, Zatkoff has committed to improving their packaging process. We do this with an understanding that with each revision comes a higher degree of accuracy and efficiency, always with the goal of benefiting our customer on the other end of the order.

This family-run business, now in its third generation, continues the traditions set forth in 1959.

Roger’s grandson, Roger Paul Zatkoff, explains that by using today’s scale, “we now only have to weigh a product batch once to find the sample size, allowing us to ship the same products from a stored weight. This cuts down on the time it takes to get an order out the door by a huge amount. Along with speed to market, Zatkoff’s innovating scale system offers the ability to identify product composition discrepancies through artificial intelligence, preventing our customers from receiving incorrect parts or compounds.”
